Swedish ice hockey star Johan Silfwerplatz cuts a dash in a new tartan named after our national Bard.
The Ayr Eagles defenceman gladly donned four yards of plaid when the new Burns Heritage Tartan was unveiled at Alloway the other day.
And female staff at Burns Cottage rated their choice of model a winner.
Staff member Jean Picknell said: "We are all very pleased with the tartan."
"Initially, it will be seen on ties and caps to be sold in our shop, but we hope it will also be turned into staff uniforms."
And a park spokesman pointed out: "The new tartan has been designed to be stylish and elegant, while also drawing on the rich tradition of Robert Burns.
"It combines colours from the Burns Heritage check with patterns inspired by tartans connected with Burns' legacy - such as the Graham and Ewing patterns."
And the spokesman revealed: "Johan's 6'1" frame was chosen as perfect by Burns Cottage staff to model the new tartan, which is fashionable, dynamic and international."
"The staff, also admitted that, like Rabbie, Johan has a certain appeal for the lassies."
