Burns Cottage Museum
Arriving at the main site, the visitor will approach through an elegant public garden, dominated by four mature Irish yew trees. This garden will be formed by a separation of the Victorian amenity garden element of the existing site from the rest of the cottage grounds, effected by the museum building itself. The sense of place will be further created by the façade of the new-build element, with a reglit-glazed ground floor entrance, over which can be seen a view of the first floor café, with an adjoining terrace. With well-lit, level access from both car park and street, the new entrance will form a friendly and wheelchair accessible welcome to all visitors.
