Discuss the events that took place during the lifetime of Robert Burns

In groups, listen to examples of music composed at the time, e.g. Works
by Handel, Beethoven and Bach. Create your own music to express the
mood of Burns' poems, e.g. "To A Mouse", "Tam o'Shanter"

Handwriting and presentation - discuss writing toll before pens and
pencils were developed. Practice writing using a variety of quills,
pens, etc and styles, e.g. Cursive, calligraphy script. Use Burns poems
as stimulus for formal handwriting. Make parchment using tea bags to
stain paper, giving an aged effect.
